Ruslana Wrzesnewskyj – Outstanding Achievement Award Recipient 2016

w00526Adopting a child from overseas is always a life-changing experience, but for Ruslana Wrzesnewskyj and her husband Andy Cottrell, their adoption in 1992 of a child from a Ukrainian orphanage launched a lifetime of activism in support of children in the orphanage system in post-Soviet Ukraine.  Help Us Help the Children, founded by Ruslana in 1994, has since helped better the lives of  countless children in over 200 institutions.  w00522Not content with providing food, medication and clothing, HUHTC has branched into anti-trafficking seminars, prosthetics programs and ever-popular annual summer camps, at which many young Canadians volunteer. UCPBA Calgary is proud to announce that the recipient of our 2016 Outstanding Achievement Award is Ruslana Wrzesnewskyj.  Join us on June 23 to hear Ruslana speak about her experiences and the needs of children and young people in Ukrainian orphanages.
