Thinking of today is easy. Thinking of tomorrow is not always foremost in our minds. But financial planning is integral to future success for both individuals and businesses. Topics such as estate and succession planning often come to mind far too late in our personal and business lives, yet it’s important to think now about how you can make your hard-earned money work hard for you and your future. Join tax and estate lawyer Greg Shannon for a presentation which will provide a window into the financial planning process, including estate planning, wills, trusts, personal directives, powers of attorney, as well as retirement and succession planning.
Greg Shannon is a Corporate Finance and Tax partner in the Calgary law office of Miller Thomson. Originally from Vancouver, Mr. Shannon completed his legal training in both Canada and the U.S. and practises law in both countries. He specializes in taxation, business law, trusts and estates, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, franchise, sports and entertainment law.
Mr. Shannon is co-founder of the Calgary Enterprise Forum Society, a non-profit organizatino that fosters the development, promotion and advancement of high growth and emerging businesses in Calgary and South Alberta. He has also lectured at numerous seminars on cross-border tax and estate planning and various corporate finance topics.
