The round table participants will speak about open and covert Russian propaganda and disinformation messages that are being spread in English-speaking media, whether intentionally or not.

Dr. Oleksandr Pankieiev is editor-in-chief of the Forum for Ukrainian Studies, an online publication of the Contemporary Ukraine Studies Program at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta. He is also president of the Alberta Society of Advancement of Ukrainian Studies.

Olena Goncharova is a development manager and head of the North America desk with the Kyiv Independent. She is also vice president of the Alberta Society of Advancement of Ukrainian Studies. Previously she worked for the Kyiv Post, Ukraine’s oldest English-language newspaper.

Dr. Ostap Kushnir recently accepted the position of lecturer at the University of Portsmouth (UK). During the 2022/23 academic year he was the Kolasky Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta.
